How do I use the splitter of Sparky?
Updated over a week ago

With the built-in splitter of Sparky, you can connect an extra device to the P1 port of your smart meter. For example, the P1 dongle of your dynamic energy supplier. Handy, because now you don't have to buy a separate splitter!

Follow these steps to use the splitter of Sparky.

1. Click the RJ12 cable into the IN port of Sparky

Sparky has 2 ports:

  • IN (grey) - connection to your smart meter

  • OUT (black) - connection for an extra device

When installing Sparky, make sure that you click the supplied RJ12 cable into the grey IN port of Sparky.

2. Click Sparky into your smart meter

Connect Sparky to the P1 port of your smart meter.

3. Check whether Sparky is working properly

Make sure that Sparky is working properly before using the splitter (OUT port). It may take a while for the data from your smart meter to be sent to the app.

3. Connect the supplied power adapter

To ensure that both Sparky and the additional connected device continue to work properly, you must connect the supplied power adapter to Sparky. If necessary, you can also power the additional device with another power adapter.

4. Connect the additional device to the splitter

If Sparky is working properly, connect the next device to the black OUT port of Sparky. Use a different RJ-12 cable for this.
