You can use the supplied power adapter to power the Sparky P1 dongle. This is especially important for older smart meters (DSMR 4 and 2). Sparky then needs extra power to function properly.

The power adapter ensures that the Sparky P1 dongle works reliably and prevents possible problems with the power supply. If you have a newer smart meter (DSMR 5), the adapter is usually not necessary, but we always supply it just in case. If Sparky is connected to your smart meter without a connected power adapter, you do not need to connect it.
