I can’t connect Sparky via Bluetooth — how do I fix this?

Having trouble connecting to the Sparky P1 dongle via Bluetooth? Don’t worry! Sometimes connection issues can occur due to settings on your smartphone or other factors. To help you with a smooth setup, you’ll find some tips below to solve the problem.

General Tips

  • Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.

  • Check if Sparky is in reset mode:

    • First-time setup: the Sparky LED is solid red

    • With firmware version 52 or higher: the Sparky LED is solid green

  • Keep your mobile phone close to Sparky (within a few meters at most).

  • Ensure Sparky is receiving enough power. Connect the included USB-C charger to guarantee stable operation.

  • Turn Bluetooth off and back on again on your phone.

  • Restart your phone and try installing Sparky again.

For Android

Enable Location Services

  • Go to Settings > Apps > App Permissions > Location and enable it with full access.

Clear Bluetooth Cache

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Tap the three dots > Show system apps.

  • Find and open Bluetooth.

  • Go to Storage and choose Clear Cache and Clear Data.

  • Restart your phone and try connecting again.

For iOS

Forget Sparky and reconnect

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth.

  • Turn Bluetooth off and back on, then try again.

Reinstall the app

  • Delete the app from your phone

  • Restart your phone

  • Reinstall the app

  • Try connecting again

Still getting a Bluetooth error?

  • Try installing Sparky using a different phone to check whether the issue is with Sparky or your device

  • Make sure your phone is updated to the latest software version

  • Reset Sparky and try connecting again
