When you have a 1-or 3-phase connection and use Sparky, it is possible to view the load per phase.

Live phase load

  1. Open the Chargee app

  2. Select ‘Insight’ in the menu

  3. Select 'Live'

  4. Select ‘Phases

The bars show the live phase load in your home based on the size of your main fuse. You can see the voltage and amperage per phase.

To show the live phase load in your home, we need to know the size of your main fuse. You can set this under Profile > My home > Main fuse

Load per phase (ampere)

  1. Open the Chargee app

  2. Selecht ‘Insight’ in het menu

  3. Select 'Day'

  4. Select ‘Per hour

  5. Choose in the dropdown 'Load per phase (Ampere)'

The graph shows the current per phase in amperes. How strongly your phase is loaded determines whether your main fuse is overloaded. Always make sure you use less than the connection value.

You can turn each phase on or off in the graph using the toggle.

Voltage per phase (voltage)

  1. Open the Chargee app

  2. Selecht ‘Insight’ in het menu

  3. Select 'Day'

  4. Select ‘Per hour

  5. Choose in the dropdown 'Voltage per phase (Voltage)'

This graph shows the voltage measured on your main fuse.

You can turn each phase on or off in the graph using the toggle.

I don't see phase load data in the Chargee app

  • Whether we can show phase load depends on your smart meter type. You can read more on this support page about the data displayed per type of smart meter.

  • Update the Chargee app to the latest version

  • Do you have a newer smart meter and the latest version of the app? If so, please contact us via a chat message or email us at [email protected]

Why is insight into phase data important?

Insight into load per phase is important because it shows how much electricity is used on a specific phase. If too much current is used on one phase, it can lead to overloading, which can damage devices or even cause a fire.

What is the difference between a 1-and 3-phase connection?

Do you have a working fuse box at home? Then your house is connected to the power grid. This connection goes through a cable to the distribution board in your meter cabinet. The amount of current it can carry depends on how heavy the connection is. Usually, you have either a 1-phase or a 3-phase connection. But what is the difference?

What is a 1-phase connection?

Many homes have a 1-phase connection. In this case, 230 volts come in through one cable. This is enough for a small household with ordinary appliances and a few solar panels. You can recognize a 1-phase connection by the text: 220/230 volts on the electricity meter.

What is a 3-phase connection?

With a 3-phase connection, 230 volts come in through three cables. This connection has more capacity than a 1-phase connection. You can distribute your energy use over the three phases. This is handy if you have devices that use a lot of electricity, such as a sauna, or ceramic hob, or if you are feeding power back through solar panels.
